[6b] Internal evidence and reason both suggest late 1967

[7] A reprint of the original 1969 edition published by Éditions Flandre-Artois, q. v. above

[7a] This was the address from which Pâque edited «Demain» in the 1950s. While I have not been able to find advertising for these pamphlets in the pages of those issues held from the time so far, it seems likely that these publications date from a similar period, though they might be slightly later, perhaps from the 1960s.

[7b] The leaves dedicated to the delineations of the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Uranus in Aries have been backed with duplicates of the text for the equivalent planets in Taurus found in the Taurus pamphlet. A former owner has crossed through all the duplicate text pages with long diagonal lines in coloured crayon, without loss of legibility

[7c] The leaves dedicated to the delineations of the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune in Taurus have been backed with duplicates of the text for the equivalent planets in Aries found in the Aries pamphlet. A former owner has crossed through the duplicate text for Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn with long diagonal lines in coloured crayon, without loss of legibility

[7d] The leaves dedicated to the delineations of all planets in Cancer have been backed with revised ones for the same planets in Gemini whose text differs from that in the Gemini pamphlet

[7e] The leaves dedicated to delineations of the planets in Libra have been backed with revised ones for the same planets in Scorpio, whose text differs from and is in many cases extended from the equivalent text in the Scorpio pamphlet

[7f] The leaves dedicated to delineations of Moon, Venus and Uranus in Aquarius have been packed with revised ones for the same planets in Pisces, whose text is extended from the equivalent text in the Pisces pamphlet

[8] He is also credited with the copyright to this edition, suggesting that perhaps he was responsible for the overall production, although his name does not appear on the title page

[9] A series by the present publisher, consisting of reproductions of select old texts by different authors.

[10] After the first edition of Turner’s translation (1675), which however was not to my knowledge given the new title ‘The Archidoxes of Magic’, its title simply consisting of the list of themes starting ‘Of the Supreme Mysteries of Nature…’ so far as I can recall from seeing pictures of an original copy for sale. The new edition would appear to have been given an added overarching title as a convenience to the publisher in a time when the lengthy, rambling titles of the past had ceased to be fashionable or even marketable.

[11] Seemingly a second-generation facsimile reprint, taken from the Askin Publishers edition listed above

[12] “Editing, corrections and new matter copyright 2003, 2006 by Holmes Publishing Group LLC and R. Christopher Abel”

[13] The date of the first edition is given as 1950

[14] Prepared from the Sanskrit source text of Sitararm Jha. The present volume includes the first 45 chapters of the work, in Sanskrit verses with English translation and notes.

[15] The preface is dated 1984 which would appear to be the date of the first printing of this first volume of edition.

[16] The present volume comprises chapters 46 to 97.

[17] The editor’s preface is dated 21-12-1987, which would appear to represent the date of the first printing of this second volume of this edition. Kapoor explains that Mr. Santhanam (i.e. the translator of the first volume) has been unavailable for the past three years as a result of his unspecified “pre-occupation”, and that therefore he (Kapoor) took on the task of translating for the present volume instead

[18] The exact printing date of this stated second edition is not apparent but presumed soon after 1933. I cannot at a quick glance find any difference from the first edition. There is also a much smaller-format A.F.A. reprint falsely retaining the 1933 date, but in fact printed in the 1970s. The A.F.A. edition is notably less fine in its imitation of the original gilt design to the front board as well as being slightly smaller and lighter

[19] This edition retains only the original copyright date of 1933, but can confidently be dated to 1970-1975 in view of the publishing history of the A.F.A.. The book was designed to resemble the original editions even outwardly, employing a facsimile of the original illustrated cover design, but with a less fine detail resolution. The book is noticeably somewhat smaller in size format than those of the original editions

[20] A retitled new edition of ‘Der Schlüssel zum Horoskop, Band 2’, q. v. above
